Application

Type IN is the replacement measuring insert for Type A and Type B temperature sensors. It is manufactured to match the original sensor and application, ensuring the replacement maintains the intended measuring performance and construction.

Every measuring insert is built for the sensor it will be installed in. The measuring principle, dimensions, materials and construction are selected to suit the application.

The insert is mounted in the connection head by spring-loaded screws, ensuring reliable thermal contact with the protection tube while accommodating thermal expansion. Where required, vibration-resistant constructions are available to suit demanding operating conditions.

The operating temperature depends on the measuring principle selected. RT-IN, fitted with one or two Pt100 or Pt1000 resistance elements, measures temperatures up to 600 °C. TC-IN, using a Type K, J, N, T or E thermocouple, extends the measuring range to 1150 °C. The insert is available with free leads, a ceramic terminal block or a head-mounted transmitter.
