AM/AMC thermocouple temperature sensor with a steel protection tube and an aluminium connection head
Type AM/AMC – a thermocouple temperature sensor for high temperatures in flue gases and air in ovens, kilns and furnaces

Application

Type AM/AMC is a thermocouple temperature sensor for measuring high temperatures in flue gases and air in large ovens, kilns, furnaces and hot-gas channels. Its heat-resistant steel protection tube is suited to measuring points exposed to hot combustion gases, including sulphurous atmospheres.

The sensor is configured to the duty, with a type K, N, R or S thermocouple for measurement up to 1150 °C, depending on the operating conditions. An adjustable flange or compression fitting allows the immersion depth to be set during installation.

Contamination can affect the thermocouple and cause the measurement to drift. A ceramic inner tube provides an additional barrier around the element where this protection is required.

Where it is used
Brick, tile and ceramic kilns
Furnace and boiler flue gas ducts
Combustion air ducts and hot air channels
Waste and hazardous waste incineration plants
Heat treatment and annealing furnaces
Refinery and petrochemical process heaters
